The first thing everyone always asks when they hear about FARFALLA is ``What does FARFALLA mean?''. Well since we were writing a replacement for ZEBRA we wanted a name which would be an animal. Since we were working on an experiment in Italy we wanted an Italian animal. We picked FARFALLA which is Italian for butterfly. The name is actually our(very bad) attempt at an Italian acronym: Fisica Analisi Rete Facendo Altrimento Letargico Lavoro Allegro (rough translation: Physics Analysis Network Making Otherwise Dull Tasks Lively and Gay).
