Lei Xia (ANL) PFA Jet Measurement and Digital HCAL for the Future International Linear Collider. Abstract: The physics program for the future International Linear Collider (ILC) requires excellent (30%/sqrt(E) or 3-4%) jet energy resolution, which is believed to be obtainable by using particle flow algorithms (PFA) together with a highly granulized calorimeter system. In this context, I will discuss the current status of the development of the particle flow algorithms, the concept of digital hadron calorimetry and a viable design for a digital hadron calorimeter with very fine segmentation, using Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) as the active element. I will also show some preliminary results from our recent test beam of a small prototype digital calorimeter.
